| Ingredients |
- Spinach - 2 bunch(chopped) or
- 16 ounce(frozen)
- Moong Dhal - 1 cup
- Onion - 1 Finely chopped
- Tomato - 2 chopped
- Garlic-3(Finely chopped)
- Red pepper Flakes - 1 tsp
- Coriander Powder-1 tsp
- Grated coconut- 1 tbsp
- Salt to taste
- For Seasonning:
- Mustard-1 tsp
- Jeera-1/4 tsp
- Curry leaves- 5 to 6
- Asafoetida-1 pinch
- Oil

| Methods |
- Wash the Spinach and dhal,pressure cook with 1/2 cup water till soft and tender.
- After 10-15 mins when both palak and dhal are cooked.
- Mashed roughly with a potato masher or a spoon.
- Heat a kadai with little oil and season it with mustard,jeera,curry leaves and asafoetida.
- Then add onions,garlic,red pepper,tomato,coriander powder and salt.Fry till the raw smell is gone.
- Finally,add the coconut,mashed spinach & dhal and stir well.
- Serve hot with chapatis or rice.
