Ingredients
  • Spinach - 2 bunch(chopped) or
  • 16 ounce(frozen)
  • Moong Dhal - 1 cup
  • Onion - 1 Finely chopped
  • Tomato - 2 chopped
  • Garlic-3(Finely chopped)
  • Red pepper Flakes - 1 tsp
  • Coriander Powder-1 tsp
  • Grated coconut- 1 tbsp
  • Salt to taste
  • For Seasonning:
  • Mustard-1 tsp
  • Jeera-1/4 tsp
  • Curry leaves- 5 to 6
  • Asafoetida-1 pinch
  • Oil
Methods
  1. Wash the Spinach and dhal,pressure cook with 1/2 cup water till soft and tender.
  2. After 10-15 mins when both palak and dhal are cooked.
  3. Mashed roughly with a potato masher or a spoon.
  4. Heat a kadai with little oil and season it with mustard,jeera,curry leaves and asafoetida.
  5. Then add onions,garlic,red pepper,tomato,coriander powder and salt.Fry till the raw smell is gone.
  6. Finally,add the coconut,mashed spinach & dhal and stir well.
  7. Serve hot with chapatis or rice.
