Ingredients
  • Raw rice-2 cups
  • Moong dhal-1/2 cup
  • Mustard-1 tsp
  • Jeera-1/2 tsp
  • Whole black pepper-2 tbsp
  • Dry Red Chilli-4
  • Asafoetida-1/4 tsp
  • Ginger-1 inch piece(finely chopped
  • Cashew nuts-3 tbsp
  • Curry leaves
  • Coriander leaves-1 cup(chopped)
  • Salt to taste
  • water
  • Ghee
Methods
  1. Wash rice and dhal together,add 2:1 water ratio to pressuer cook with salt to taste for 25 minutes.
  2. Heat a pan with ghee season it with murtard,jeera,whole black pepper,dry red chilli,curry leaves,ginger,Cashew nuts and asafoetida.
  3. Mix it well with cooked rice and dhal.
  4. Garnish with finely chopped coriander leaves and cashew nuts.
  5. Serve hot with coconut chutney,vada,sambar..etc.
