  • Onions-3
  • Garlic-5
  • Tomato-1 Pound
  • Dhania-1 tbsp
  • Jeera-1 tsp
  • Red Chillies-6
  • Poppy seeds-1 tbsp
  • Grated Coconuts-2 tbsp (full)
  • Roasted gram-1 1/2 tsp
  • Coriander leaves
  • Sugar
  • Salt
  • Oil
  • For Seasonning
  • Mustard-1 tsp
  • Curry leaves-6
  • Asafoetida-2 pinch
  1. Boil tomatoes with enough water to cover for 5 to 10 minutes.When cool,strain the water ,peel the skin and grind it.
  2. Fry Dhania,jeera and red chillies in little oil .
  3. Dry roast poppy seed in a pan till brown.
  4. Add grated coconut,roasted gram along with roasted items and grind to a paste.
  5. Heat oil in a sauce pan ,season it withmustard,add cut garlic and fry till brown ,add finely onions,fry till translucent.
  6. Pour tomato puree .ground mixture , salt and sugar.
  7. Boil till it becomes thick .
  8. Garnish with cut coriander leaves .
  9. Serve hot with Idlis or polkas.
