Ingredients
  • Badam(Almond)- 2cups
  • Sugar- 1 cup
  • Saffron- I pinch
  • Milk- 3 tbsp
  • Ghee- 2 tbsp
  • Vanilla Essence –few drops(optional) or
  • Rose Essence –few drops (optional)
  • Sliced Badam
Methods
  1. Soak almonds overnight for about 12 hrs.
  2. Change and drain the water of almonds(badam) to avoid brown skin color getting in to the almonds(If you don’t change the water the badam katli will change color).
  3. In a blender or mixee grind badam with little milk, grind into fine paste.
  4. Heat a heavy bottom skillet,add the finely ground badam paste,sugar and saffron.
  5. Cook the mixture add little ghee ,stirring constantly till it turns into a thick paste.
  6. Add essence of your choice and remove from heat ,spread the mixture in well greased(ghee) plate and place the sliced almond on badam katli .
  7. Let it cool down, and cut into diamond shape pieces.
  8. Badam Katli (Almond Katli ) is ready to serve.
  9. Badam Katli is a wonderful sweet dish to share on a diwali festival day or any day with a sweet is a special day.
