  • quail (Kaadai)- 2
  • Salt- 1tsp (or as required)
  • Chilli powder-1/2 tsp
  • Green chilli- 2
  • Red chilli - 2
  • Ginger- 1cm
  • Garlic- 2 pods
  • Lemon/tamarind paste- 1tsp
  • onion- 1/2
  • curry leaves-10-12
  • Oil- 2 tablespoon
  1. 1. Clean the kaadai and cut it into half.
  2. 2. Grind a paste with green chillies, red chillies, garlic, ginger, lemon/tamarind paste.
  3. 3. marinate the kaadai halves with the marinate and salt for half hour.
  4. 4. In a nonstick pan heat oil, add curry leaves and onion.
  5. 5. Brown the onions.
  6. 6. Now add the kaadai and mix well. Close the lid and cook for 8-10 mins.
  7. 7. Now add rest of the marinade and keep stirring to fry the kaadai very well. it should start browning.
  8. 8. Once the kaadai is cooked well and the marindae is all dried, the dish is ready.
  9. 9. Place the halves on a serving dish, put the browned onions from the pan over it. garnish with coriander and lemon wedges.
