To prepare Chicken Makhani(Indian Butter Chicken),Wash and clean the chicken and cut it medium size piece. Heat the kadai ,add butter and oil to together when the oil is hot ,sauté the finely cut onions till soft and translucent.
Then add the ginger garlic paste, garam masala , chilli powder, cumin powder and bay leaf and mix well.
Add tomato sauce , stir & cook for few minutes the till raw smell is gone. Stir frequently.
Add half-and-half and yogurt , reduce the heat to low and simmer for about 10 minutes and stir well .Then season it with salt and pepper.
Remove it from heat and set it aside.
On the other side heat oil in a large a skillet over medium heat.
Add chicken in the kadai cook till the chicken is browned, about 10 minutes.
In low flame ,add garam masala and little chilli powder.
Stir in the tomato mixture prepared before to the chicken and simmer still the liquid is reduced and till the chicken tender. Stir cooked chicken into sauce
If the curry is still watery , add corn starch with water in it to thicken the sauce,Stir in low flame.
Garnish in with coriander leanves(cilantro) and a scoop if sour cream.
