Ingredients
  • Rice Flour- 4cups
  • Urad Dhal- 1cup
  • Asafetida- 2 pinch
  • Chilli Powder-1 tsp
  • Jeera- 1 tsp
  • Ajwain- 1/4 tso
  • Ghee – 3 tbsp
  • Oil for frying
  • Salt to taste
  • Water
Methods
  1. Muruku is great yummy snack around diwali festival time & here is the recipe for simple muruku very easy to make.
  2. To make muruku ,Measure 4 cups of rice flour in bowl, dry roast the urad dhal to nice golden brown and set it aside to cool.
  3. Then grind urad dhal into powder in spice grinder(or coffee grinder) for better result.
  4. Add the urad dhal to the rice flour in a bowl also add chilli powder, asafetida ,jeera ,ajwain,ghee ,salt &water to make into a dough.(mix well with hand )
  5. Cover with a wet towel for 5 minutes and in a muruku maker squeeze in muruku shapes .
  6. In the mean while heat ¾ oil in kadai with copper bottom or cast iron wok for the heat to spread evenly while frying.
  7. Test the oil by droping few pieces muruku dough in and see if the dough comes to the top of the oil bubbling.
  8. Then slowly drop the squeezed muruku in the oil one by one and fry till golden brown and do the same with the rest of the dough.
  9. Strain the oil in a colander ,
  10. Serve for all occasion like Diwali Festival ,share with friends and family.
