Ingredients
  • Milk 1 litre
  • 8-10 cardamoms crushed
  • Saffron 1 tsp
  • Sugar (amount given below)
  • Warm milk 2 tbsps
Methods
  1. Prepare curd from 1 litre milk
  2. When formed, put it in a muslin cloth and hang it inside the refrigerator for all the water to drain for 3-4 hours
  3. Remove from cloth
  4. For 1 cup thickened curd add 1 1/4 cup sugar
  5. Add cardamom powder
  6. Soak saffron in 2 tsp warm milk for 5 mins and add to the mixture
  7. Heat the mixture in a kadai, stirring constantly
  8. Test the mixture for thickness by rolling a little between fingers
  9. If it forms a ball then remove from flame
  10. Spread evenly in a square tray and leave to cool
  11. When cool, cut into burfi-size pieces
